The Mas is ideally located in Gard between the wine regions of Languedoc-Roussillon and the Rhone Valley. Situated in the tranquil countryside on the outskirts of the village of Deaux. Approximately 1.5 miles away is Venzenobres, a medieval hilltop village. Nearby is Ales where you will find a large supermarket and restaurants. Uzes, designated one of France’s 50 villes d’art in 1962, is a mere 20 minute drive away. Every Saturday there is a large fresh market that sells everything from pottery to the famous Provence linens to fresh poultry, meats, fish and produce. The market is held in and around the beautiful Place aux Herbes (town square). A smaller local market is held on Wednesday, as well. You can spend an afternoon strolling around the the town admiring the splendid architecture. There are excellent restaurants to eat in, quaint cafes where you can sit, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and charming shops to explore. There is also a cinema for those who might want to see a film after dinner.
